If I were...

If I were a month I’d be May...or October

If I were a day I’d be Sunday

If I were a time of day I’d be sunset into dusk

If I were a planet I’d be the moon circling the earth in all it's phases

If I were a sea animal I’d be a leafy sea dragon

If I were a direction I’d be southwest

If I were a piece of furniture I’d be a rocking chair

If I were a liquid I’d be Earl Grey Tea

If I were a gem stone I’d be Amazonite

If I were a tree I’d be a Jacaranda

If I were a tool I’d be a camera

If I were a flower I’d be a lily of the valley

If I were an element of weather I’d be dew

If I were a musical instrument I’d be a accordion

If I were a color I'd be purple

If I were an emotion I’d be gratitude

If I were a fruit I’d be a avocado

If I were a sound I’d be a whistle

If I were an element I'd be earth

If I were a car I’d be a Willis Jeep pickup

If I were a food I’d be shrimp creole

If I were a place I’d be a mountain meadow

If I were a material I'd be lawn

If I were a taste I’d be salty

If I were a scent I’d be lilac

If I were a body part I’d be an eye

If I were a song I’d be off key

If I were a bird I'd be a mourning dove

If I were a gift I'd be the last book you talked about

If I were a city I'd be New Orleans

If I were a door I'd be one of those old wooden screen doors whose sound lets you know when someone comes in or goes out

If I were a pair of shoes I’d be discarded by the door

If I were a poem I would be Dance Me to the End of Love by Leonard Cohen

what would you be?

I saw this first when Allegra posted it and others followed, Tara and then Stephanie and so a little late but with my love of lists...

But you are all those things, at least to my eyes and my heart you are. Is there anything more important than to be what you want to be to those who love you? And I do, and you know it and I am happy that you know it. Btw, I grew up with Jacarandas and the delicate trumpets always let the sky in when we laid under its canopy in lazy days and my memories will always be tinted with purple and pink from those days. Hugs from here.
