Great quote - but I feel the need to amend: Living in the year 2009 - requires the courage to let go of certainties. ______ .. . perhaps you've noticed :-)
I love erich fromm! What a good idea... I don't sketch much, but sketching on newspaper... i'm curious to see how it is. It seems like the pencil will move really smoothly on the surface!
Letting go of certainties=leaving your comfort zone. Read a great quote yesterday too that struck a chord in a similar vein to this quote: "The biggest killer of dreams is procrastination." -Lisa Fisco From an article in "More" magazine about women who dared to redefine themselves in their adulthood. Hey-did you do that drawing?
drawing is so meditative - slowing one down as the eyes caress the view savoring the moment in the object - I love drawing over layers peeking through underneath as you have done here - like the layers of our lives and the rich density of experience - leaving our comfort zone allows our comfort zone to grow...
Not quite as old as dirt, but getting there. As happy as I choose to be at any given time. Delighted to share my humble but adequate opinion at any time. Trying to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do and doing the next right thing when I screw up...
Leather Lips because that's what came up in spell check once when my name was typed in and true in some seasons!

Who ate the cake that came on that doily?

This is incredibly original! Amen to, the quote. ; )
Leaving a comfort zone is always a good thing, in my book. Experimenting, trying something new? Just say yes! xoxox
