Know that joy is rarer,
more difficult
and
more beautiful
than sadness.
Once you make this all important discovery,
you
must
embrace
joy
as
a
moral obligation.

Wow !!
Your photo is the perfect visual for this incredible quote.
I'm just going to have to roll the concept of joy as a "moral obligation" around my head for quite a while.
That just knocks me down .... JJjjj
The opposite of Joy for me is Indifference, not Sadness. Joy is more than a moral obligation, it is a life choice, a commitment to see the Light where the Shadows live.
(This coming from a woman whose name means Filled with Joy and who tries to the best of her ability to honor her name.)
joy in all things always
joy in every moment
joy takes the time
to love the little things
yes - JOY!
xox - eb.
Love the photo and the philosophy! All the time I see people trying to put down joy, as though it's something to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. But joy is what keeps us going, isn't it - the little rays of sunshine after weeks of rain? xoxox
I'm with Judith...gonna take me a while to digest that wonderful tidbit!
I like what Allegra said too; to see Light where the Shadows live.
I want to keep this quote close to me, always.
A hug and kiss for you leading me to these words.
I think that balloon is me. : ) I absolutely love that picture. ; )
The quote and photo hit me quite hard - loved them both. think I needed to see that today.
thanks!
A little gift ... .
just for you - on my blog.

Oh dear. Telling me I have to do something is an almost certain way to make me determined not to do it.
Sometimes joy is hard to find. But just as one can't keep trouble at bay, it also seems to be true that joy will find you, wherever you are, eventually. And that's a comforting thought.
embrace joy and live it. beautiful words!
