On the first day of my time off

my true love gave to me.... oh wait, wrong season.
But I did get gifts all day long! I went for a walk, did a little birthday present gathering, ran into an old friend, had brunch with another friend, saw this amazing demo on reduction wood block printing by this amazing woman, Mary Sweet, aren't her hands amazing? Have I used that word enough? Nope, apparently not...

Took a sneak peak of the new exhibit at the museum, more about that later when I have had the chance to write down the names of the AMAZING artists in the show and really get a chance to see each and every one of the amazing pieces but I will tell you there will be tales of paper cuts that are over the top and unbelievable art with x-ray film and some of the coolest things with paper and steel and butterfly wings...signed up for this class, Spectacular Sparkly Shrines (Yeah!), bought a few wonderful beads, took lots of pictures, did a little grocery shopping and got some beautiful lilies for the table.
And look! I did a whole journal page to top off the day. And yes, that now makes 4 whole visual journal pages I have completed so far...in my life. Okay, yes the picture is on my comforter, I did do the page sitting on my bed - hey, you do what you gotta, right?- at the very end of this good day. Not bad for my first day of not working.
The quote says, "Never fear the shadows. They simply mean that there's a light somewhere nearby." Ruth Renkei. Looking forward to what unfolds today, shadows and all.

WoW! I am envious! Am maybe a wee bit tired thinking of such a full day (but how wonderful too).
Serious, all THAT in one day????
I would've loved to have been there for the wood block demo and yes, I DO love her hands!
What a great day!
